A warm and welcoming family of five, based on a beautiful private estate in Hungerford, are seeking an experienced Weekend Housekeeper to support their family home over the weekends.
The household already has a full-time Housekeeper who works during the week, and this position will provide continuity and additional support while the weekday Housekeeper is off duty. This is a varied, hands-on role focused on keeping the home comfortable, organised and running smoothly while the family are in residence, rather than undertaking a full weekly housekeeping schedule.
With three children aged 7, 5 and 4, the family are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working within a family environment and is happy to be an extra pair of hands during busy weekends.
The family also entertain from time to time, so there may be occasions when support is required preparing the home, welcoming guests and helping things run smoothly during family gatherings.
The ideal candidate will be warm, reliable, discreet and flexible, with a proactive approach. They are looking for someone who will fit naturally into the household, work well alongside the wider team and enjoy being part of a busy but welcoming family home.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Keeping on top of general housekeeping and tidying throughout the weekend
- Ensuring the main family areas remain clean, comfortable and well presented
- Assisting with family laundry and ironing as required
- Changing beds and refreshing bedrooms when needed
- Keeping the kitchen and household areas organised and tidy
- Helping in the kitchen and preparing simple family food when required
- Keeping an eye on household essentials and communicating when items need replenishing
- Assisting with the family’s two dogs when needed
- Being an extra pair of hands around the children during busy family weekends
- Preparing the home when the family are entertaining
- Occasionally meeting and greeting guests and assisting during family gatherings
- Liaising with the wider household team to ensure good continuity between the week and weekend
- Providing flexible support wherever needed to help the household run smoothly
The Ideal Candidate
Ideally, you will:
- Have previous private household or high-quality housekeeping experience
- Be confident with general housekeeping, laundry and ironing
- Enjoy cooking and be happy to prepare simple, nutritious family meals when required
- Genuinely enjoy being around children and feel comfortable within a busy family home
- Be dog-friendly and happy to assist with their day-to-day care when required
- Be organised, proactive and confident using your own initiative
- Be reliable, trustworthy and discreet
- Have a good eye for detail and take pride in maintaining a welcoming home
- Be flexible and enjoy working as part of a friendly, close-knit household team

- Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport due to the estate’s location

Salary: £22–£25 per hour, negotiable depending on experience
