TEMPORARY KITCHEN ASSISTANT / HOUSEKEEPING SUPPORT – GLOUCESTERSHIRE
Location: Stinchcombe, near Dursley, Gloucestershire Dates: Friday 7th August – Friday 14 August 2026 Position: Temporary, Live-out, Part-time hours
Shire & Wold Staffing is seeking a practical and proactive Temporary Kitchen Assistant / Housekeeping Support to assist a Family Cook during a busy family holiday at a private residence in Gloucestershire.
The role will focus on supporting the Cook during peak periods and helping to keep the kitchen and dining areas clean, organised and running smoothly.
Duties will include:
· Washing up and dishwasher management
· Cleaning and resetting the kitchen following meals
· Keeping food preparation and kitchen areas clean and organised
· Tidying and resetting dining areas
· Wiping down highchairs following meals
· Managing kitchen bins and recycling
· Assisting with grocery deliveries and putting away provisions
· Providing practical support to the Family Cook during busier meal periods
· Assisting with simple food preparation where appropriate and within the candidate’s experience
There are no bedroom, bathroom, laundry or wider housekeeping duties associated with this role.
The successful candidate will be practical, hardworking and comfortable working within a busy family environment with young children present.
Previous private household, chalet, villa, kitchen porter or hospitality experience would be advantageous.
Hours: 6 hours per day, approximately 2pm–8pm, Monday to Friday, focused on dinner prep support, washing up, kitchen reset and dining clean-down.
For Saturday 8th, 4pm–9pm because that’s arrival day and dinner
On Sunday, potentially 8am–2pm to support breakfast, lunch and the reset before the external caterer arrives.
Salary: £20ph
