Temporary Night Nanny, Cheltenham UK

We are seeking a caring, experienced, and reliable Night Nanny to support a young family with a newborn baby based in Cheltenham.

This is a temporary contract role lasting 4 months, working 5 nights per week. The successful candidate will provide overnight support to the mother, helping to ensure a calm, safe, and well-supported environment during the evening and throughout the night. Please note that this is a support role for the mother and family. You will not be left solely responsible for the baby, nor will you be expected to take full charge of overnight care independently. The mother will be present throughout the night, and your role will be to assist, support, and provide reassurance during the newborn stage.

The ideal candidate will have previous newborn experience, a nurturing and professional manner, and the ability to offer practical support while respecting the family’s routines and preferences.

Duties Outlined Not limited to:

• Providing gentle support to the mother with newborn care throughout the evening and overnight hours.
• Assisting with feeds as required, including preparing bottles when needed.
• Helping with nappy changes and ensuring the baby remains comfortable, content, and well cared for.
• Offering a calm and nurturing presence when settling and soothing the baby back to sleep.
• Supporting the family during periods when the baby may be unsettled or experiencing disturbed sleep.
• Assisting with changing bedding or sleep spaces if needed following spills or accidents.
• Providing reassurance, practical assistance, and an extra pair of hands to the mother throughout the night.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience as a Night Nanny, Maternity Nurse, or similar childcare role.
• DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Excellent references from previous childcare positions.
• Reliable, trustworthy, and discreet.
• Strong communication skills and a calm, reassuring manner.

Desirable

• Driving licence and own transport.

Rate: £18.00 per hour

Hours: Approximately 10–12 hours per night shift
