The opportunity
Shire & Wold is looking for a confident, creative and highly organised Social Media & Marketing Manager to work closely with the Founder as a trusted right-hand person. This varied, hands-on role brings together social media, brand storytelling, podcast delivery, community building, events and project management across Shire & Wold, the Founder’s personal brand and the Anything But Ordinary podcast.
Key responsibilities
Social media, content and brand storytelling
- Create content that genuinely fits each audience while maintaining a clear and recognisable brand voice.
- Plan, create, schedule and publish written, visual and short-form video content across Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook.
- Turn business activity, Founder insight, podcast conversations, consultant expertise and events into engaging stories and campaigns.
- Repurpose content imaginatively so that one strong idea can connect the Shire & Wold brand, the Founder’s personal brand and the Anything But Ordinary podcast without feeling repetitive.
- Coordinate videography days from briefing and shot planning through to schedules, contributors, delivery and final content selection.
- Maintain a forward-looking content calendar and ensure agreed content is delivered consistently and on time.
Founder and personal-brand support
- Work closely with the Founder as a trusted right-hand person, helping to turn ideas and opportunities into clear, deliverable projects.
- Support the development of the Founder’s personal brand on Instagram and LinkedIn, capturing her voice, perspective, business story and wider interests authentically.
- Spot content opportunities proactively and help the Founder remain visible and consistent without requiring her to manage every detail.
- Plan the following week’s priorities with the Founder each Friday and maintain clear actions, owners and delivery timescales.
Anything But Ordinary podcast
- Project-manage the podcast alongside the Founder and production team, keeping recording, editing, approval and publication to agreed timescales.
- Ensure the right edits, clips, messages and promotional moments are captured from every episode.
- Research, source and help secure interesting, credible guests who fit the podcast’s positioning and audience.
- Work with the Founder on guest invitations and secure suitable opportunities for her to appear on other podcasts.
- Build imaginative content plans around each episode, linking relevant conversations back to Shire & Wold and the Founder’s personal-brand story.
Communities, consultants and growth
- Project-manage and nurture communities across WhatsApp, Facebook groups, Instagram and LinkedIn, encouraging useful conversation and consistent engagement.
- Work with Shire & Wold consultants to identify content opportunities, support their social-media delivery and help them build confidence and visibility.
- Work collaboratively with the SEO team so that social, website and search activity support the same growth vision, priorities and campaigns.
- Track content and community performance, identify what resonates and use those insights to improve future activity.
Events, networking and project delivery
- Project-manage business, community and podcast events, coordinating plans, suppliers, content, guests, promotion and follow-up.
- Attend relevant events and undertake occasional travel to capture content, represent the brand and develop relationships.
- Act as a confident networker who can build genuine relationships with guests, partners, clients, contributors and collaborators.
- Keep multiple projects moving at once, following up actions and identifying risks or delays before they become problems.
What we are looking for
- A forward-thinking, proactive person who can work with a high level of autonomy and take ownership from idea through to delivery.
- An excellent storyteller who understands audiences, brand positioning and how to adapt content for different channels.
- Proven experience managing social media and creating strong written, visual and video content for a brand, Founder or business.
- Strong project-management skills, with the discipline to manage timelines, contributors, external partners and competing priorities.
- A natural relationship-builder and great networker who is confident approaching potential guests and collaborators.
- Excellent written English, attention to detail and an instinct for tone of voice.
- Comfort working closely with a Founder, handling evolving ideas and providing dependable, practical support.
- A self-motivated and organised home worker who also values in-person collaboration and can work regularly alongside the Founder at the office.
- Flexibility to attend events and travel occasionally when required.
Useful skills and experience
- Experience supporting or producing a podcast, including guest coordination, production schedules and promotional content.
- Comfort using tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite or similar content-production software.
- Experience filming and editing short-form video and directing others comfortably on camera.
- Working knowledge of social scheduling, community-management and analytics tools.
- An understanding of SEO, email marketing, website content and paid social would be beneficial.
Working pattern
This is a Monday-to-Friday role, working 9am–5pm. It is a hybrid position, with time split between working alongside the Founder at the office and working from home. The successful person must live within a commutable distance of Bicester, be comfortable and productive working from home, and be available for occasional events and travel. Each Friday will include planning and agreeing priorities for the following week.
