Senior Laundress, Central London

An Ultra High Net Worth family residing in Mayfair is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Laundress / Wardrobe Care Specialist to assume full responsibility for the maintenance, preservation, and presentation of an extensive couture and luxury wardrobe.

This is a senior-level specialist position requiring exceptional standards, advanced technical expertise in high-end garment care, and complete discretion. The ideal candidate will be experienced, meticulous, and genuinely dedicated to their craft.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the complete care, laundering, and long-term preservation of a substantial collection of couture, bespoke, and luxury garments
  • Expertly handle delicate and specialist fabrics, including silk, cashmere, wool, leather, suede, embroidery, beaded items, and vintage pieces
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of designer labels, couture construction, and garment finishing to ensure appropriate treatment of each item
  • Carry out hand-washing, specialist stain removal, steaming, pressing, and finishing to five-star and couture standards
  • Coordinate with specialist dry cleaners, tailors, conservators, and restoration professionals as required
  • Maintain meticulous wardrobe organisation, including seasonal rotation and climate-appropriate archival storage
  • Pack and unpack wardrobes for international travel, ensuring garments remain in pristine condition
  • Care for household linens, towels, and soft furnishings to the same exacting standard
  • Manage stock levels of laundry products, wardrobe supplies, and equipment
  • Maintain laundry machinery and promptly report any faults
  • Work closely with the House Manager and household team to deliver seamless service

Essential Experience & Skills

  • 5–10 years’ experience as a Laundress or Wardrobe Specialist within UHNW private households, luxury yachts, royal households, or five-star hotels
  • Proven expertise in couture and luxury garment care
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Absolute discretion, professionalism, and loyalty
  • Calm, methodical, and dependable, with the ability to work independently
  • Advanced technical knowledge of luxury fabric care, stain treatment, and garment preservation
  • Fluent English (additional languages advantageous)

Salary: £55,000GPA
