An Ultra High Net Worth family residing in Mayfair is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Laundress / Wardrobe Care Specialist to assume full responsibility for the maintenance, preservation, and presentation of an extensive couture and luxury wardrobe.
This is a senior-level specialist position requiring exceptional standards, advanced technical expertise in high-end garment care, and complete discretion. The ideal candidate will be experienced, meticulous, and genuinely dedicated to their craft.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete care, laundering, and long-term preservation of a substantial collection of couture, bespoke, and luxury garments
- Expertly handle delicate and specialist fabrics, including silk, cashmere, wool, leather, suede, embroidery, beaded items, and vintage pieces
- Apply in-depth knowledge of designer labels, couture construction, and garment finishing to ensure appropriate treatment of each item
- Carry out hand-washing, specialist stain removal, steaming, pressing, and finishing to five-star and couture standards
- Coordinate with specialist dry cleaners, tailors, conservators, and restoration professionals as required
- Maintain meticulous wardrobe organisation, including seasonal rotation and climate-appropriate archival storage
- Pack and unpack wardrobes for international travel, ensuring garments remain in pristine condition
- Care for household linens, towels, and soft furnishings to the same exacting standard
- Manage stock levels of laundry products, wardrobe supplies, and equipment
- Maintain laundry machinery and promptly report any faults
- Work closely with the House Manager and household team to deliver seamless service
Essential Experience & Skills
- 5–10 years’ experience as a Laundress or Wardrobe Specialist within UHNW private households, luxury yachts, royal households, or five-star hotels
- Proven expertise in couture and luxury garment care
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Absolute discretion, professionalism, and loyalty
- Calm, methodical, and dependable, with the ability to work independently
- Advanced technical knowledge of luxury fabric care, stain treatment, and garment preservation
- Fluent English (additional languages advantageous)
