Our client, based near Banbury in Oxfordshire, is looking for an experienced Private Housekeeper to join the growing household team at their newly renovated residence.
This is not simply a cleaning position. The successful candidate will take pride in maintaining an immaculate, beautifully organised home and will work as part of a professional household team.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily cleaning and presentation of the residence.
- Care of bedrooms, bathrooms and principal living areas.
- Laundry, ironing and wardrobe care.
- Changing and presenting beds to a high standard.
- Care of fine furnishings, fabrics and surfaces.
- Organisation of cupboards, wardrobes and household areas.
- Maintaining household supplies and notifying the House Manager when items need replenishing.
- Supporting the preparation of guest bedrooms and entertaining areas.
- Assisting with table setting and informal service when required.
- Supporting other household team members during busy periods.
- Helping establish housekeeping systems within the newly renovated residence.
- Maintaining discretion and respecting the family’s privacy at all times.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous private household housekeeping experience.
- Excellent cleaning, laundry and garment-care skills.
- Extremely high standards of presentation.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good organisation and time management.
- A flexible and collaborative attitude.
- A willingness to work as part of a household team.
- Excellent discretion and confidentiality.
- Strong employment longevity and references.
- A genuine interest in securing a long-term position.
Additional skills such as floristry, ceramics, sewing, wardrobe care or other creative/practical interests would be highly regarded.
Location: near Banbury, Oxfordshire
Salary: £42,000- £45,000 gross per annum
Hours: Full-time – exact working pattern TBC
