A professional couple based near Victoria is seeking an excellent, health-conscious Private Chef to provide ongoing culinary support at their London residence.
The chef will work every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, preparing fresh, healthy and nutritious food that tastes exceptional and is presented beautifully.
This is a self-employed engagement on a regular retainer. The chef will reserve the three agreed days for the clients but will remain free to work for other clients outside those days. The agreed retainer will continue to be paid when the clients are travelling or do not require the chef’s services, in return for the chef maintaining regular availability.
Responsibilities
- Create varied, healthy and nutritionally balanced menus
- Prepare and organise breakfast
- Prepare a fresh lunch on each working day
- Prepare additional meals, components and snacks for non-chef days
- Keep the refrigerator stocked, organised and ready for the week
- Source excellent seasonal ingredients and coordinate food deliveries
- Monitor stock levels, freshness and food rotation
- Label prepared food with storage and reheating guidance
- Accommodate the clients’ preferences and dietary requirements
- Maintain an immaculately clean, hygienic and organised kitchen
- Manage an agreed food budget and provide receipts
Nut-Allergy Management
One client has a nut allergy. The chef must have excellent allergen awareness and be confident maintaining a strictly nut-free kitchen, including careful label and supplier checks, prevention of cross-contact, and rigorous cleaning and storage procedures.
Candidate Requirements:
- Substantial professional cooking experience
- Previous private-household or family-chef experience
- Excellent healthy, nutritious and flavour-led cooking
- Strong food-presentation skills
- Proven experience managing allergies and dietary requirements
- Excellent menu-planning, provisioning and kitchen-management skills
- Discreet, reliable, organised and self-sufficient
- Excellent recent professional references
- Valid UK right to work
- Registered as self-employed or operating through an appropriate business
- Appropriate public-liability insurance and ability to invoice monthly
Commercial:
- Three reserved service days each week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday
- Professional day rate agreed with the successful chef
- Monthly retainer calculated from the agreed regular service
- Retainer remains payable during the clients’ holidays and other absences
- Chef remains free to work for other clients outside the reserved days
- Approved ingredient costs reimbursed separately
- Additional days or events agreed and charged separately
- Mutually agreed notice period and confidentiality agreement
