We are looking for a proactive and experienced Housekeeper to manage the daily running of a family home in Leatherhead. This is a key support role for a busy family of three (including one child and a dog) and may occasionally involve light family cooking and ad hoc childcare.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, have exceptional attention to detail, and be confident working independently. A self-starter with excellent time management and a flexible approach will thrive in this position.
Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Coordinating with the family’s weekly cleaner to maintain high housekeeping standards
- Supervising tradespeople and service providers (e.g. gardener, window cleaner)
- Identifying and managing minor household repairs and maintenance
- Full laundry care, including hand washing, ironing, and handling delicate/luxury fabrics
- Wardrobe management, including occasional packing and unpacking for travel
- Maintaining tidiness and cleanliness in all living areas, including furnishings, artwork, and rugs
- Preparing healthy, nutritious meals and snacks according to family preferences
- Managing grocery shopping or overseeing food deliveries; keeping pantry and fridge stocked and organised
- Maintaining kitchen and food storage cleanliness and order
- Running errands such as post office visits, dry cleaning, and local deliveries
- Dog care, including occasional walks
- Preparing the home in the evenings (e.g. closing shutters, turning down beds, tidying bedrooms)
- Seasonal duties such as flower arranging and decorating the Christmas tree
- Occasional babysitting or light childcare support, as needed
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar private household or high-standard housekeeping role
- Impeccable attention to detail and a high level of discretion
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Comfortable around children and dogs
- Confident cook with experience preparing healthy meals
- Valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
- Right to work in the UK
Role Details:
- Position Type: Permanent, Part-Time
- Start Date: ASAP
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, approx. 13:00–17:00/18:00 (some flexibility)
- Salary: £20 – £25 gross per hour (depending on experience)
- Employment Status: Self-employed – Monthly invoicing, 30-day payment terms
- Holiday: Statutory paid holiday entitlement
