We are looking for an experienced, warm and adaptable Housekeeper/Cook to join a welcoming private household in Cheltenham. This is a varied role combining three days of family cooking with two days supporting the household with housekeeping, laundry and general household duties. The successful candidate must be happy and confident working within a young family household, including around a toddler and newborn baby. They should have a warm, flexible and family-friendly approach and be comfortable working alongside other household staff including a fill time nanny.

Cooking – 3 Days per Week

The main focus for three days of the week will be preparing fresh, healthy and delicious family-style meals. Responsibilities will include:

• Preparing fresh, nutritious family meals
• Menu planning and adapting meals around the family’s preferences
• Shopping for fresh ingredients and managing kitchen supplies
• Batch cooking and preparing meals ahead where required
• Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and well stocked
• Preparing fresh, nutritious food for the family’s much-loved dog,
• Confidently catering for the family’s day-to-day requirements

Housekeeping & Household Support – 2 Days per Week

For the remaining two days, the role will work alongside the existing household team, providing support wherever needed. Duties will include:

• General housekeeping and maintaining high standards throughout the home
• Laundry, ironing and clothing care
• Household organisation and general day-to-day support
• Helping to keep wardrobes and household areas organised
• Working collaboratively with the nanny, who also assists with the children’s wardrobes
• Communicating and coordinating with other members of the household team
• Providing additional support during busy periods and helping wherever required

This role would suit someone who is flexible, organised, hands-on and genuinely enjoys both cooking and housekeeping. The household operates as a team, so a positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with the nanny and other household staff will be essential.

• Reliable and looking for a long-term position where you can become a trusted part of the household.
• Comfortable around dogs.
• A confident driver with a full UK driving licence, ideally with your own transport.

Days: Monday to Friday

Hours: 9:00am – 6:00pm

Salary: £40,000 per annum
