We are seeking a warm, kind and proactive Mother’s Help to support a lovely young family based in Cheltenham. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a caring household with a 2-year-old daughter and a new baby expected soon. The family are looking for someone who is nurturing, reliable, and happy to become part of a supportive home environment while maintaining a professional approach. The ideal candidate will be proactive, responsive to the family’s values, and flexible, with the ability to adapt to changing needs from day to day. The role also requires someone who loves dogs and is happy to walk them when required, and provide support wherever needed to help ensure the smooth running of the home.
Duties outlined but not limited to:
- Supporting the mother with day-to-day household and childcare duties
- Assisting with meal preparation alongside a part-time cook
- Helping with daily kitchen tasks, cleaning, and maintaining a tidy home and some housekeeping duties when required
- Laundry, ironing and wardrobe management for the children
- Preparing and sterilising baby bottles
- Supporting with general childcare needs
- Engaging with the 2-year-old through play and developmental activities and mealtimes
- Daily morning dog walking
- Providing general support to ensure the smooth running of the household
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm or 10:00 am – 6:00 pm (flexible for the right candidate)
- No weekend work
- January 2027 3-night stay to support the grandmother while principals are travelling
Candidate Requirements:
- Warm, caring and confident with young children
- Reliable, proactive and flexible attitude
- Ability to work as part of a small, close-knit household team
- Professional approach while being friendly and approachable
- Previous childcare or private household experience
- Valid and checkable references essential
Start Date: June / July (for the right candidate)
Salary: £36k -£40k plus
