We are recruiting on behalf of a long-standing client for an experienced and proactive Senior Housekeeper to join a small, well-established team in a fully staffed private residence in Mayfair.
This is a warm and welcoming household with a young family (two children cared for by a full-time nanny), supported by a Chef, Butler, and two Housekeepers. The successful candidate will take a hands-on approach while overseeing day-to-day housekeeping operations and supervising junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- All general hands-on housekeeping duties, including daily cleaning and upkeep of the property to the highest standards
- Full laundry care: washing, ironing, wardrobe management, and packing/unpacking for travel
- Overseeing and guiding the housekeeping team, managing rotas and daily/weekly schedules
- Liaising with the Principals and Butler regarding household maintenance and supply needs
- Ensuring laundry supplies are well stocked and all cleaning equipment is in working order
- Reporting maintenance issues or equipment faults promptly
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience in a high-standard private household
- Strong team management and leadership skills
- High attention to detail and organisational ability
- Excellent references
- Fluent English; good communication skills
- Discreet, professional, and committed
- Must have the right to work in the UK
Schedule:
- Monday – Thursday: 9:00 AM – 5:00/6:00 PM (with breaks)
- Friday: either 9:00 AM – 5:00/6:00 PM or occasionally 12:00 PM – 8:00/10:00 PM if entertaining
- One weekend day per month may be required (time off in lieu during the week)
Salary: £50,000 Gross per annum
