Live-out Laundry Assistant, Hampshire

We are seeking a meticulous, reliable, and discreet Laundry Assistant to join the House Team of a prestigious private estate. Based in the estate’s purpose-built laundry, this role is responsible for delivering the highest standards of laundry and garment care, including the handling of delicate and high-value items.

During quieter periods, the Laundry Assistant will also provide support to the wider House Team with general housekeeping duties across the estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Wash, dry, steam, and press household laundry, uniforms, and linens to an exceptional standard
  • Care for delicate and high-value garments, including silk, cashmere, and formalwear
  • Assist the House Manager with the care, organisation, and presentation of the principal’s wife’s wardrobe
  • Ensure all linens are correctly stored, prepared, and readily available for use
  • Identify and report any damage, wear, or repair requirements
  • Assist with general housekeeping duties during quieter periods
  • Maintain immaculate standards throughout the main house, guest areas, studios, outbuildings, and staff accommodation
  • Support seasonal deep cleans and preparations for family visits and events
  • Work under the direction of the Senior House Assistant and collaborate effectively with the wider estate team
  • Uphold absolute discretion and professionalism at all times
  • Adhere to health and safety procedures, policies, and risk assessments

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience in a formal private residence, luxury yacht, or high-end hotel environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong time management skills, and pride in delivering consistently high standards
  • Flexible, proactive, and dependable, with a willingness to support across the estate as required
  • Energetic and physically fit, comfortable working across multiple floors and estate areas
  • Trustworthy, discreet, and professional in all aspects of the role
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends, particularly during shoot season
  • A strong team player with excellent communication skills

Terms & Package

  • Salary: £40-50,000 GPA depending on experience
  • Probation: 6 months

Working Schedule:

  • Shoot season: 3 days per week working 8 hours per day, 2 days per week working 10-12 hours per day
  • February – August: 8 hours per day, 4 days per week
  • Average: 40 hours per week over a 12-month period
