We are looking for an experienced Senior Housekeeper & Cook to keep a busy family home clean, organised and well cared for, prepare healthy and delicious meals, and provide some practical PA support.
This is a hands-on role for someone who notices what needs doing, plans their own work and follows through reliably. Working alongside the existing household team, the successful candidate will maintain high standards and help everyday family life run smoothly.
Housekeeping and family cooking are the priorities. PA duties are a smaller part of the role, agreed around these core responsibilities.
Duties outlined not limited to :
Housekeeping & Household Organisation
• Carry out day-to-day cleaning and housekeeping to a high standard, keeping rooms tidy, organised and welcoming.
• Look after laundry, ironing, household linens and wardrobe organisation, arranging specialist cleaning when needed.
• Keep belongings in their proper places, maintain practical inventories and replenish household supplies.
• Care appropriately for furnishings and important household items, following care instructions and seeking specialist advice when necessary.
• Plan housekeeping routines and work collaboratively with other household staff, communicating priorities and any tasks needing attention.
• Flag maintenance or household technology problems and help arrange agreed suppliers, contractors or specialist support.
• Support with pet care, including booking vet and groomers.
Cooking & Entertaining
• Prepare healthy and delicious family meals according to the family’s dietary requirements, preferences and requests.
• Plan menus with the family, manage grocery shopping and food stocks, and keep the kitchen and pantry clean and organised.
• Help with family entertaining, including food preparation, table settings and clearing up, and liaise with external caterers when required.
Light PA & Family Support
• Assist with routine appointment bookings, reservations, straightforward travel arrangements and diary updates, keeping relevant people informed.
• Help with agreed routine school requests, including uniforms, lunches and equipment, and flag important matters to parents.
• Help the family prepare and pack for travel.
• Undertake occasional errands and driving, including driving family members when needed.
We are looking for someone who is:
• An experienced hands-on housekeeper confident in cleaning, laundry and the care of a well-presented family home.
• A confident family cook enjoys preparing healthy, attractive and delicious everyday food.
• Proactive, organised and dependable plans work sensibly, notices what needs doing and follows tasks through to completion.
• A clear and thoughtful communicator keeps the family and colleagues informed and flags delays or competing priorities early.
• A considerate team player works well alongside other household staff and is flexible and happy to muck in.
• Comfortable with everyday technology able to use Apple computers, MS Word and Excel, digital calendars and online bookings, and learn household systems.
• Warm, discreet and trustworthy practical and resourceful, with good judgement and respect for family privacy.
Experience & Working Pattern
Candidates will ideally have at least six years’ relevant housekeeping experience, preferably as a Senior Housekeeper, Housekeeper/Cook or in a comparable private-household role. Experience providing light PA support and good knowledge of Oxfordshire suppliers would be valuable.
A full driving licence and confidence driving locally are required. Willingness to travel with the family once or twice a year would be a bonus.
The home is clean, tidy and welcoming; clothing and linens are well cared for; supplies are replenished; and meals are something to look forward to. Agreed tasks and bookings are completed reliably, and communication is clear. The result is a supportive, organised home that feels well cared for

Hours: Full-time 10.30 am to 7 pm. Tuesdays to Saturdays
