Our clients, who have a beautiful house on a stunning country
estate on the outskirts of Bicester, Oxfordshire, are looking for
an experienced Housekeeper to join their existing team. This is a
fully staffed house so being a team player is essential.
Duties outlined but not limited to:
· You will be responsible, with the housekeeping team, for the
cleanliness and maintenance of the house and all other properties
you are assigned to.
· You will need to work in conjunction and liaise with the
Butlers and Chef, working as a team, for the house and all other
properties you are assigned to.
· You will take instructions from the principal owners and their
family members, the Property Advisor, and the Estate Manager when
appropriate. You will report to the Head Butler.
· In addition to your main duties, you will be required to carry
out such other duties consistent with your status and role as the
employers may from time to time require.
Your duties will be all those which are normal for the position
of Housekeeper which includes but is not limited to the
following:
· To liaise with family members when in residence, particularly
when guests are in residence.
· To maintain the interior of the property to a very high
standard of cleanliness and presentation at all times. Likewise,
the Clockhouse, Annex, Stable Cottage, and the Staff
accommodation.
· Laundress work to be shared between all housekeepers when
possible. Also, to liaise with the Property Advisor and the
Butlers to make/suggest improvements, as necessary.
· Close communication with the Butlers to maintain adequate
household stocks of cleaning materials and ordering where
required, that all equipment/appliances are in good working
order.
· Ensure that any maintenance, faults, damage are reported
immediately to the Head of House Maintenance or the Butlers.
· Occasionally you may need to help in the kitchen with other
members of the housekeeping team, including assisting the butlers
when cooking for day shoots.
· Work closely with the housekeeping team on a daily basis to
implement your standards of housekeeping in their work; in
addition to check that this is done regularly and follow weekly
property checks. Propose improvements where necessary.
· To work as and when required outside the normal working week
and on formal occasions with all full-time and part time staff
members.
Person specification
Essential requirements:
· An understanding of housekeeping and what is required.
· Able to develop good working relationships with all team
members.
· High standards and attention to detail – ability to maintain a
high standard of hygiene and cleanliness.
· Able to follow procedures and effectively manage tasks and own
workload.
· Able to cope with a varied and demanding workload.
· Must be trustworthy, a good timekeeper and demonstrate
flexibility.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Smart and tidy appearance.
· Full driving licence and own vehicle (due to location).
Desirable requirements:
· Understanding of Health and Safety.
· Previous experience of working in a private household or
similar.
Package on offer:
· Working hours Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00 hours with an hour
for lunch. Flexibility for weekends and evenings is required.
· Contributory pension scheme – eligibility to join after three
months employment.
· 21 days holiday per year plus lieu time for weekend working
and/or bank holiday working.
Salary: Salary £32,000 – £38,000 (experience dependent)
