Live-in/out Housekeeper/Cook

A relaxed, informal family living on a country estate near Moreton-in-Marsh in the Cotswolds are looking for a long-term Live-in (or out) Housekeeper/Cook to join their home. You must speak English, and it is highly preferable to speak some Spanish.

The family has boy/girl twins who are neurodivergent (ADHD). Mum is from South America and speaks Spanish to the children. The family also have another wonderful live-in Spanish-speaking Nanny/Housekeeper who works Monday to Friday. This new role is designed to work in a supportive, team-oriented way with the existing Housekeeper on Thursdays, Fridays, and Mondays.

It is essential that the new hire is a team player, shares a positive attitude, and pays close attention to detail. You should be pet friendly, as there are three very well-behaved dogs: a Goldendoodle and two Cocker Spaniels.

The property is a recently renovated 6-bedroom house (principal bedroom, a bedroom for each child, and three guest rooms), with a 2-bedroom, also newly renovated staff apartment in the East Wing of the house. The family seeks someone warm, discreet, organised, and hardworking who can take the lead in cooking family-style meals while supporting household management alongside the other Housekeeper. This would suit someone who loves being part of a family environment and happy to be in a household, which on the whole is quiet and relaxed.

Role & Environment

  • The household is relaxed and family focused. The workload is spread across two Housekeepers, so while the household operates between 7:30 am–7:30 pm, you will not work 12 hours as the times of work are shared between the two housekeepers to ensure full cover.
  • The ideal candidate is a good family-style cook, ideally with experience in Spanish cooking, but open to all styles suited to family life.
  • Accommodation is within the main house with a separate entrance, featuring a beautiful double bedroom with ensuite. There is a brand-new kitchen shared between the two Housekeepers, offering a comfortable and welcoming environment.
  • The family home is a friendly, relaxed household in which to live and work, with plenty of opportunity for collaboration with the existing team.
