Live-in/out Housekeeper

Our client, with a beautiful property in the heart of the countryside close to Stow-on-the-Wold are seeking an experienced and diligent Live-in or out Housekeeper to assist with maintaining the smooth running of this busy weekend residence.

The family consist of a Couple and their four lively children between 6-12 years – there are sometimes guests/extended family members visiting. A nanny, driver and chef are employed.

Duties include:

• All aspects of hands-on housekeeping – cleaning, tidying and organising
• Laundry and ironing
• Changing of bed linen
• Running errands and shopping
• Organisation of services/contractors accordingly
• Very occasional family cooking appreciated/ a bonus (usually a Chef)
• Some driving e.g. collecting family from station or occasional airport drop off.
• Housekeeper may be asked to help in London when family staying in London at weekend but very rare as London staff employed.

This property is used from Friday to Sunday on a weekly basis with further use during school holidays, so it is essential candidates applying are happy to work during these times.

Candidate requirements:

• Experience working within a similar role
• Confident working autonomously with little management
• Full UK driving license
• Clean DBS check
• Organised, efficient and hardworking
• Flexibility required – plans can change at short notice
• Friendly, warm, approachable must like children and dogs (no pet care required)
• High standards and respectful

Working days: Thursday to Monday – flexibility required especially during school holidays

Working hours: 10 hours per day -housekeeper expected to clear up after dinner when family in residence so day may be longer or later and include evenings.

When family there for longer periods, one of the London housekeepers may come to assist.

Standard 4 weeks holiday. Holidays to be taken only when family are travelling – Bank Holidays may be required as a working day if the family are in residence, but given back in lieu

Accommodation if live-in: 3-bedroom flat

Salary: competitive depending on experience
