Live-in Housekeeper/Cook, Cotswolds

A family of four living in a 120-acre country estate in the Cotswolds near Moreton-in-Marsh are looking for a long-term Live-in Housekeeper/Cook to join their family home.  You must speak English and it’s highly preferable that you speak some Spanish or Tagalog.

 

The family have boy / girl twins who are neurodivergent (ADHD). Mum is from South America and speaks Spanish to the children. The family also have another wonderful live-in Spanish speaking Nanny/Housekeeper that works Monday to Friday so this role is to overlap / work as a team with her on Thursdays, Fridays and Mondays. It is of utmost importance that the new hire is a team player and shares the same positive attitude and attention to detail. You should be pet friendly, there are 3 very friendly dogs (two Cocker Spaniels and a Goldendoodle). 

The property to look after is a recently renovated 6-bedroom property (principal bedroom, a bedroom for each child and 3 guest bedrooms) plus a 2-bedroom staff apartment in the East wing of the house.

The family is looking for a warm, discreet, organised and hardworking candidate who can take initiative with cooking for the family whilst supporting the other Housekeeper to maintain the cleanliness of the household.

Along with the other Housekeeper, the family also employer a Gardener, a Groundsman and a team of bi-weekly Cleaners.

Main Duties (candidate takes the lead)

  • Planning and cooking simply family meals including breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  • Prepping and cooking for friends when hosting
  • Setting the table and arrangement
  • Greeting guests, making and serving coffees / drinks 
  • Organising pantry, fridge / freezer, use things by sell by date, managing stock
  • Shopping for food

Duties shared with the other housekeeper equally 

  • Making / changing beds, maintaining the house clean
  • Laundry
  • Management of waste and recycling
  • Maintain the outdoor kitchen and clean BBQ, pool house and outdoor furniture care during summer months
  • Feeding & walking the dogs
  • Occasional babysitting
  • House and dog sitting when family travel 
  • Majority of the ironing done by the other Housekeeper but some assistance as needed

Package/Details:

  • Salary: £38,000 gross per annum
  • Working Days: Thursday to Monday 
  • Working Hours / schedule: Mornings through lunch time, take an afternoon break and return to work late afternoon through to the evening meal. 
  • Driver ideal but not essential
  • Fully employed with pension and holidays (20 days plus 8 additional days in lieu of bank holidays as these usually fall on a Monday so would be a working day – i.e. a total of 28 paid days off).

Accommodation: A large king size bedroom with its own ensuite bathroom in the staff apartment in the East wing of the house with separate entrance. Use of a separate kitchen/break room.
