Live -in Housekeeper/cook

We’re delighted to be seeking for a new Housekeeper role for a welcoming family of five based in West Berkshire. The household includes three young children and two friendly dogs (Labrador and Spaniel). This is a well-supported property with a nanny, part-time cleaners, gardeners, and an estate manager in place.

The family is looking for a polished, experienced individual who takes pride in maintaining a beautiful home and is confident in the kitchen to assist with simple, family-style cooking when required. This is a varied and fulfilling role for someone who is discreet, proactive, and happy to work in a collaborative team environment.

Duties Outlined but not limited to :

• Full housekeeping and laundry care
• Preparing fresh, family-style meals as needed
• Managing household supplies and online/in-store shopping
• Assisting the female principal with occasional personal tasks
• Wardrobe organisation and packing for travel
• Flower arranging
• Light admin
• Welcoming guests and light front-of-house duties
• Liaising with tradespeople and other staff
• Occasional pet care and child-friendly support

The Ideal Candidate Will Be:

• Experienced in private households with similar duties
• Practical, discreet, and highly organised
• Confident with family-style cooking
• Flexible and happy to work around a family’s schedule
• Friendly and professional in presentation and communication
• A driver is a bonus, but not essential

Accommodation:

A 1-bedroom cottage on the property is available for live-in candidates. The role is also open to live-out applicants within commutable distance.

Location: West Berkshire

Salary: £45,000–£50,000 DOE + Private 1-Bedroom Cottage (if live-in)

Start Date: Flexible – ideal candidate to be appointed as soon as found

Schedule: 5 days/week (Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday)
