Live-in Housekeeper, Burford, UK

Our clients are a busy family of four, with two professional parents and two boys who attend boarding school. They are looking for a proactive, energetic and experienced Housekeeper who enjoys taking ownership of a home and becoming a trusted support to the family.

The ideal person will be kind, discreet, highly organised and naturally takes pride in creating a calm, well-run household.

Responsibilities:

  • Full housekeeping to an exceptional standard
  • Laundry, ironing and wardrobe management
  • Household organisation and ensuring the home is always beautifully presented
  • Running errands and managing household supplies
  • Daily care of the family’s much-loved Show Cocker Spaniel, including a daily walk, grooming and general pet care
  • Caring for two friendly kittens
  • Confident family cooking during the school holidays
  • Preparing dinner party-standard meals on occasion
  • Working independently, anticipating the family’s needs and helping everything run smoothly

The ideal candidate:

  • Experienced within a private household
  • A confident cook who enjoys preparing fresh, delicious meals
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Energetic and hands-on
  • Discreet, trustworthy and professional
  • Warm, kind and naturally helpful
  • Comfortable around animals and happy to provide daily care for the family’s dog and cats

Accommodation

The successful candidate will have sole use of a beautifully refurbished, self-contained one-bedroom annexe with its own private entrance. The accommodation is completely separate from the main house, offering excellent privacy and is not overlooked by the family.All utility bills are included, along with Wi-Fi, Netflix and other streaming services, making it a comfortable and welcoming home.

Please note this accommodation is suitable for one person only, therefore applicants should not have pets or dependants living with them.

Hours:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Usually Monday to Friday
  • Flexible working hours
  • Occasional weekend work, with either overtime paid or time off in lieu

Salary:

£40,000–£45,000 gross per annum, depending on experience.

Start Date: ASAP, The family’s current Housekeeper finishes at the end of July, although they would be delighted to welcome the right candidate sooner if available.
