A welcoming family based in Buckinghamshire is seeking a highly experienced, proactive and trustworthy full-time Live-in Housekeeper to join their household. This is a live-in position with separate accommodation provided, offering a wonderful opportunity for someone who is confident managing the smooth day-to-day running of a family home.
The family home has eight bedrooms, four of which are used regularly, and six bathrooms. The female principal is hands-on, and there is also a gardener employed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out all housekeeping duties to a high standard, ensuring the home is kept clean, organised and well presented.
- Managing laundry, wardrobe care and general household organisation.
- Preparing breakfast daily, such as eggs, avocado toast, fruit and overnight oats.
- Cooking occasional ad hoc family-friendly, nutritious dinners as required.
- Providing occasional adult supervision for the children, aged 10 and 12, usually around one evening per month and planned in advance.
- Supporting with pet care, including walking one dog daily and feeding the family’s dog and three cats.
- Assisting with pet care when the family travels, usually during school holidays and planned in advance.
- Helping with household arrangements and set-ups connected to the principals’ wellness business and retreats, including assisting with serving at events when required.
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar private household role.
- Highly experienced, reliable, trustworthy and able to use initiative.
- Confident working independently and taking responsibility for the smooth running of the home.
- Flexible and willing to assist where needed within a busy family household.
- Comfortable around children and happy to provide occasional adult supervision when required.
- Animal-friendly and happy to assist with daily pet care.
- A driver with their own car is essential; use of the client’s car will be provided for work purposes.
Working days/hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm, with a one-hour break. Some flexibility may be required on occasion.
Accommodation: Separate live-in accommodation is provided in a two-bedroom cottage located approximately one minute from the main house. Partners and pets may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Salary: £40,000 gross per annum
