Live in Housekeeper

Our clients are seeking a professional, reliable live-in housekeeper to support the smooth and well-organised running of a private household based on a farm. This is a long-term role for someone with high standards, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage a variety of household tasks with care and consistency.

The residence is located in the Winchcombe area of Gloucestershire , which is about 10 minutes to Cheltenham.

Currently, the clients reside in London and use the residence at the weekends. The clients mother resides are the residence full-time but does already have the wider support of other family members residing in separate residences on the wider estate.

There are 4 senior school aged children and the residence is likely to be busiest over the school holidays. The clients plan to reside full time at the residence from September 2026.

This is an informal household and will suit a candidate who has experience working in a similar countryside household environment.

Duties outlined but not limited to:

  • Housekeeping of the main house and the stable house ( there is only usually one person in residence for the majority of the time)
  • Weekly and bi- weekly scheduling of deep cleaning
  • Family style cooking or the confidence to prepare easy family style food when required
  • Laundry management
  • Changing of bed-linen and making of beds in occupied rooms
  • Supporting with dog care when needed ( walking the dog etc)
  • Running errands
  • Manage household replenishment and household shopping

What does the ideal candidate look like?

  • Experience working in a similar role, if prior experience having worked for a household on a working farm – even better
  • Happy to be around animals- cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, dogs .. the lot!
  • Is pro-active with their own time and able to schedule their own hours around the requirements of the role
  • Ideally be able to drive ( car can be provided)

Accommodation: Stable House, separate to the main accommodation.

Hours: 40 hours per week. Days off may need to change so ideally someone who is also flexible to work with the families schedule ( which is given in advance)

Salary: £35,000-£40,000 gross per annum
