We are seeking a highly experienced, hands-on Live-In Housekeeper to take full responsibility for a beautifully refurbished private residence in Notting Hill, London.
This is a six-bedroom, high-end family home that has recently undergone an extensive renovation. The property features modern, high-spec systems and luxury finishes, requiring a candidate with strong experience in managing newly refurbished homes, including snagging and ongoing maintenance oversight.
The family uses the property as a weekend and holiday residence, typically occupying the home 3–4 times per month. During periods of absence, you will take full ownership of the property, ensuring it is impeccably maintained, secure, and always prepared for the family’s arrival at short notice. You will work both independently and alongside a wider household team across the family’s other properties, with additional staff brought in when the family is in residence for longer periods.
This role requires discretion, initiative, and a genuine sense of pride in maintaining a high-end home.
Duties outlined but not limited to:
- Full responsibility for the housekeeping of a six-bedroom luxury residence
- Maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation
- Care of high-end finishes, delicate fabrics, and specialist surfaces
- Laundry and wardrobe management, including delicate items
- Monitoring household supplies and coordinating with suppliers and contractors
- Managing minor maintenance issues and overseeing contractors when required
- Conducting regular property checks during vacant periods
Family Support & Hospitality
- Preparing the home ahead of family arrivals to a five-star standard
- Ensuring the property is fully stocked, including food and household essentials
- Providing hands-on support during family stays, adapting to their needs
- Occasional assistance when hosting guests
Security & Oversight
- Maintaining a high level of security awareness while living on-site
- Responsible for securing and monitoring the property in the family’s absence
- Acting as a trusted point of contact for the household
Garden Care
- Light maintenance of a small London garden
- Ensuring outdoor areas remain tidy and well presented
Cooking (Desirable)
- Light family cooking when the family is in residence
- Meal preparation support if required (not a primary duty)
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a live-in housekeeper within high-end private households
- Experience working in newly renovated properties and managing snagging lists
- Highly organised, proactive, and able to work independently
- Excellent communication skills and confidence liaising with family, PA, and contractors
- Strong attention to detail with a high standard of work
- Trustworthy, discreet, and security-conscious
- Comfortable working in a property that is frequently unoccupied
- Positive, calm, and professional approach
- Interest in gardening preferred
- Cooking skills advantageous but not essential
- Driving licence beneficial but not essential
