Live- in Housekeeper

Our client is seeking a Live-in Housekeeper to join a small and friendly team on a beautiful private estate located in the Borough of Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, just 7 miles northeast of Cheltenham.

Set on 200 acres of woodland, manicured gardens, and low-maintenance farmland, the estate includes a 6-bedroom main residence, several outbuildings, a gym, and office spaces. The household is informal yet run to a high standard, with a focus on attention to detail, care, and discretion.

This role requires someone who genuinely enjoys animals and rural life, is proactive, self-motivated, and takes pride in their work. You’ll be part of a warm and supportive environment where a positive attitude and team spirit are highly valued.

Duties Include:

Housekeeping & Cleaning:

  • Hands-on housekeeping including daily cleaning, dusting, and tidying to a high standard
  • Weekly deep cleaning and rotation of household areas
  • Regular fridge cleaning (minimum weekly)
  • Sweeping and cleaning paths surrounding the immediate house area

Laundry & Clothing Care:

  • Washing, ironing, folding, and proper storage of clothing and linens
  • Light sewing repairs (e.g. buttons, hems)
  • Collection and drop-off of dry cleaning as required

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and maintain stock levels of household supplies (cleaning products, drinks, water, disposables, pet food)
  • Ensure kitchen and pantry are well-stocked with fresh and essential items

Meal Preparation & Entertaining:

  • Prepare healthy, light freezer meals using fresh ingredients (e.g. risottos, pasta sauces, fish casseroles, curries)
  • Assist in cooking and hosting small dinner parties (up to 12 guests), approximately twice per month
  • Menu planning and preparation of coffee and homemade cakes for regular visitors
  • Assist with family entertaining, including setup, service, and post-event tidying

Pet & Animal Care:

  • Daily dog care including washing, walking, and attending vet appointments
  • Feed poultry daily and secure them each evening
  • Feed wild ducks each morning and refill bird feeders regularly

Garden Support:

  • Assist with vegetable gardening (in collaboration with the gardening team)

Property Oversight:

  • Regularly check all rooms including gym and garage for cleanliness, ventilation, water ingress, and unusual odours
  • Manage and liaise with external contractors for household maintenance and repairs

Errands & Miscellaneous:

  • Conduct regular grocery shopping and run household errands
  • Support with booking appointments and maintaining household schedules



Package:

  • Separate one-bedroom cottage provided on the estate (private and self-contained)
  • All utilities included
  • Car can be provided
  • Monday to Friday schedule; any weekend work taken in lieu on chosen weekdays
  • Salary negotiable and dependent on experience
