Live in Head Housekeeper

Our clients have a beautiful Country Estate , in Berkshire and
are looking for a Live-In Head Housekeeper attend to the property
and make sure it is maintained to the highest standard. There
will be day to day administration work for the house and family
and providing at all times a high level of service to the family
& their guests. This is a beautiful family residence and
attention to detail is key .

Duties Outlined but not limited to :

* To supervise & oversee the Housekeepers & Daily or Part-time
Staff including booking staff and management of holiday/rota.
* Enhancement of good relations in close liaison with the family
and with other members of the community within the compound gates
* Assisting in the kitchen if required.
* To maintain the highest standard of workmanship at all times
* To organise, control and carry out a range of housekeeping
duties to the highest professional standards.
* To allocate & share all housekeeping duties with other staff
including (but is not an exhaustive list) cleaning, care of
antiques & fabrics, care of public & private rooms, laundry,
changing beds, deep-cleaning, preparing breakfast trays and
serving at table as required to a standard considered acceptable
to the family.
* To organise, control & assist at shooting parties and other
events; ensuring a high standard of service is given to all
guests at all times.
* The maintenance of the day to day security of the property
including handling of burglar and fire alarms.
* To be flexible in duties and be prepared to assist other staff
within the household where and when required whilst fostering
good working relationships with other members of staff on the
Estate.
* To undertake any other duties as may be required by the Family
& Estate Manager and as may be reasonably expected commensurate
with the grade of post & as would be reasonably expected from
working within the confines of a private house.
* The job holder must be prepared to undertake training and gain
any necessary qualifications as may reasonably be expected
commensurate with this post to ensure compliance with all
relevant legislation. Such qualifications must be gained within a
reasonable period of time, normally 6 months.
* To ensure the family’s dogs or other pets are cared for,
cleared up after, fed and walked as requested by the family.
* To organise the regular cleaning of the Estate Office.
* To organise and coordinate maintenance visits including liaison
with contractors.

An exemplary standard of workmanship is expected at all times.
The post holder will receive induction training and any necessary
on the job training in order that effective working practices are
maintained. This job description reflects the major tasks to be
carried out by the postholder and identifies the level of
responsibility at which the postholder will be required to work.
In the interests of effective working the major tasks may be
reviewed from time to time to reflect changing needs and
circumstances. Such reviews and any subsequent changes will be
carried out in consultation with the postholder. A flexible
approach to working is expected.

Salary £40k Plus experience dependant
