Live-in Gardener

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a forward-thinking, energetic Gardener to join a prestigious private estate set within approximately 4,000 acres of beautiful countryside near Stratford upon Avon. This is a long-term role for someone who wants to be fully involved in the continued development of established gardens and its evolvement over time. The position would suit someone with passion, enthusiasm and fresh ideas who can work collaboratively with the owner in producing new and exciting garden designs. There is the opportunity for a Gardener to continue to develop their skills within this supportive and progressive environment and may may suit an early career gardener who is looking to build a future and be part of something special in a private estate environment.

 

Duties outlined but not limited :

  • Seasonal care, management and development of established formal gardens that include a modernised sculptural kitchen garden, orangery and greenhouses
  • Actively contributing and playing a key role in the continued development of the gardens and grounds and engaging with the principal for garden development ideas and projects.
  • Develop work practices in line with the estates sustainable land and green practices policies to include the introduction of new and innovate gardening ideas and methods.
  • Correct care and maintenance of formal borders, planters and established hedges and specimen trees.
  • Working closely with a supportive team for the overall presentation of the gardens and grounds.

  • Driving Licence essential with experience of driving various vehicles an advantage.
  • Experience and knowledge of the correct and safe use and care of garden machinery.

 

This is a family home where discretion and respect for privacy are essential at all times. The successful candidate will be a valued member of a close-knit household team, working collaboratively to support the smooth running of the estate.

 

Location: Stratford upon Avon

Accommodation: Two-bedroom cottage provided. Partners welcome ,No children. Pets considered

Hours: Monday – Friday occasional weekend

Salary £30K dependent on ….. / negotiable fore the right candidate
