Housekeeper

We are seeking an experience Housekeeper to oversee and manage daily housekeeping in a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home near Byfleet, Surrey. The ideal candidate will support the busy family and the running of their home, this may include occasional family cooking and occasional ad hoc childcare. It is a busy family of 3, 1 child and a dog, that will require walking.

The ideal candidate will have meticulous attention to detail, be reliable, as well as being a self-starter who can manage their own time.

Duties outlined but not limited to:

  • Coordinate with the family’s cleaner (who attends weekly) to maintain high standards
  • Supervise external service providers (gardener, window cleaner, tradespeople)
  • Identify and coordinate household maintenance and minor repairs
  • Manage laundry, including hand washing, ironing, and delicate/luxury fabrics
  • Wardrobe care, including occasional suitcase packing/unpacking
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in all living spaces, furnishings, artwork, and rugs
  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks to suit dietary preferences
  • Grocery shopping or overseeing deliveries; restocking pantry and fridge
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in kitchen and food storage areas
  • Run household errands, such as post office trips, dry cleaning, and deliveries
  • Dog care, including occasional walking
  • Evening home preparation: closing shutters, turning down beds, tidying bedrooms
  • Seasonal tasks like flower arranging and decorating the Christmas tree
  • Babysitting or light childcare may be required in the future on an ad hoc basis

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar private household or housekeeping role
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Comfortable around children and dogs
  • Confident cook with experience preparing healthy meals
  • Valid UK driving licence and own car
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK

Position Type: Permanent, Part-Time

Start Date: ASAP

Working Hours: 5 days per week (Monday to Friday) Start time between 13:00–14:00 and finish between 17:00–18:00 – negotiable

Salary: £20 – £25 gross per hour, depending on experience

Self-employed: Monthly payment, 30-day payment terms upon invoice

Holiday: Statutory paid holiday entitlement
