We are seeking an experienced, professional Live-In Houseman to take full responsibility for a newly renovated, high-end private family residence in Notting Hill, London. This is a six-bedroom family home with a small London garden. The family occupies the property approximately 3–4 times per month, and the successful candidate will be entrusted with the care, presentation, and security of the home during periods of absence, ensuring it is always impeccably maintained and ready to welcome the family at short notice. This role requires discretion, initiative, security awareness, and a strong sense of ownership.
Duties outlined but not limited to:
Household Management & Housekeeping
- Full housekeeping of a luxury six-bedroom private residence
- Maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation
- Careful management of high-end finishes, surfaces, fabrics, and furnishings
- Laundry and wardrobe care, including delicate items
- Monitoring household supplies and liaising with suppliers when required
- Conducting regular property checks during periods of vacancy
- Coordinating contractors and overseeing minor household repairs and maintenance
Family Presence & Hospitality
- Preparing the home ahead of the family’s arrival to ensure it is welcoming and fully prepared
- Stocking food supplies and ensuring fridges are ready prior to arrival
- Supporting the family during their stays, adapting to their needs
- Occasional hosting support when the family entertains guests
Security & Trust
- High level of security awareness while living on site
- Responsible for opening, securing, and monitoring the property
- Acting as a trusted point of contact and caretaker of the household
Garden Care
- Light maintenance and upkeep of a small London garden
- Ensuring outdoor areas remain tidy and well presented
- Interest in gardening is a strong advantage
Driving & Cooking (Desirable)
- Driving on request
- Light family cooking when the family is in residence (desirable but not essential)
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar Houseman or live-in private household role
- Highly organised, proactive, and able to work independently
- Excellent communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and pride in property care
- Trustworthy, discreet, and security-aware
- Comfortable working in a property that is frequently unoccupied
- Enjoys maintaining a calm, well-run household environment
Location: Notting Hill, London
Accommodation: Private two-bedroom self-contained flat (adjoining the main residence)
Salary : Experience dependant £45k -£55k
