Our client is looking for an experienced and versatile Housekeeper/Cook who can combine excellent private household housekeeping with confident, healthy family cooking based from their private Estate close to Banbury in Oxfordshire.
This would suit somebody who enjoys variety and wants to become an integral part of a long-term household rather than working within a narrowly defined role.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping
- Maintain the residence to an exceptional standard.
- Cleaning, laundry and ironing.
- Wardrobe and linen care.
- Bedroom and bathroom presentation.
- Household organisation and stock control.
- Preparation of bedrooms and living spaces for guests.
- Assist with informal table service and entertaining.
Cooking
- Prepare fresh, healthy family meals.
- Plan menus in consultation with the family.
- Grocery shopping and sourcing high-quality ingredients.
- Maintain a clean, organised kitchen and pantry.
- Manage food stocks and minimise waste.
- Cater for dietary preferences and requirements.
- Prepare meals for family members and occasional guests.
- Assist with informal entertaining and larger family occasions where required.
The family is looking for excellent home-style cooking rather than necessarily a formal Michelin or restaurant-trained chef.

Location: near Banbury, Oxfordshire
Salary: £42,000- £45,000 gross per annum
Hours: Full-time, weekend flexibility required
