We are seeking a highly experienced, flexible, and discreet Housekeeper to support a private couple in their elegant countryside residence near Usk, Wales. This is a live-out, full-time role and requires a polished, detail-oriented professional who enjoys varied duties across housekeeping, cooking, guest care, and light administration.
This position also includes support for a boutique Bed & Breakfast operated within the main residence, making this a dynamic and rewarding role for someone who thrives in both domestic and guest-facing environments.
Duties outlined but not limited to :
Housekeeping & Presentation
- Daily housekeeping to the highest standard across the home
- Rotational deep cleaning (e.g. windows, silverware, etc.)
- Laundry and wardrobe management, including luxury and seasonal items
- Care of fine furnishings, antiques, and artwork
- Flower arranging and maintaining floral displays
Cooking & Kitchen Support
- Preparing fresh, seasonal meals using locally sourced or homegrown ingredients
- Occasional baking and menu planning for the principals
- Support for informal entertaining
- Kitchen hygiene and inventory management
Errands, Pet Care & Household Support
- Grocery shopping and errands (e.g. post, prescriptions)
- Coordination with the kitchen garden for seasonal ingredients
- Pet care (feeding, dog walking, vet visits)
- Liaising with contractors, deliveries, and household suppliers
- Managing stock levels of household items
General Administrative Assistance
- Light admin tasks and diary support for the principals
- Packing/unpacking for travel
- Maintaining a smooth and well-organised home environment
- Booking and diary management (Mon–Fri)
- Guest check-in/check-out and hospitality
- Preparing rooms and serving breakfast to a high standard
- Managing breakfast supplies and adhering to food hygiene regulations
Additional Duties
- Providing catering and assistance during garden tours or client visits
- Time management to ensure duties fall within an average 40-hour week
- Any other reasonable duties requested by the principals
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar private household or luxury hospitality setting
- Outstanding attention to detail and organisational skills
- Discreet, trustworthy, and respectful of privacy
- Confident home cook with a love of fresh, local ingredients
- Animal lover and comfortable with pet care
- Warm, flexible, and proactive with a professional attitude
- Comfortable managing guests, events, and online bookings
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Willing to undergo a DBS check
