Live – in Housekeeper

Our clients, a busy and fun family based in the beautiful Burford, are seeking a professional and adaptable Housekeeper to ensure the smooth running of their household, the property is a period 9 bedroom Property. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a dynamic, fun-loving family environment and manage a wide range of tasks, all while maintaining discretion and a calm demeanour. Given the family’s ever-changing schedule, flexibility and a proactive attitude are key qualities for this role. The property is large, including a stable block and swimming pool, and will be undergoing renovations. There is also some house management involved, including liaising with suppliers and contractors. The family currently has weekly cleaners for deep cleans and general housekeeping support. The Family have two beloved dogs (Being a dog lover is essential) a cat and horses on-site.

Duties outlined but not limited to:

  • General cleaning and tidying of the property Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness
  • Wardrobe Management for the Family: laundry, ironing, packing and unpacking, storing seasonal clothes, drop-off and collection of dry cleaning
  • Maintaining the property’s appearance and ensuring it is in top condition
  • Preparing family meals as required
  • Kitchen prep for daily meals
  • Ensuring the kitchen is clean, well-stocked, and organized
  • Hosting guests and ensuring they are comfortable
  • Supporting guests during events or stays at the property
  • Caring for 2 much-loved dogs (a dachshund and a cocker spaniel) and taking them to the groomer and vet regularly (candidates must be dog lovers) and care when the family are travelling.
  • Overseeing basic household needs during property renovations
  • Liaising with suppliers and contractors as necessary
  • Ability to respond quickly to last-minute changes in the family’s schedule
  • Keeping household items, toiletries, cosmetics, pantry, wine, spirits, and groceries stocked
  • Being able to let the family live spontaneously without adding stress or making them feel guilty for changing plans

The family requires someone who is adaptable, proactive, and unflappable with A “can-do” attitude is essential, and candidates should always seek solutions instead of presenting problems Understanding the balance between maintaining the home and respecting the family’s space, allowing them to be a little more relaxed when needed

The ideal candidate should have a warm, friendly, and discreet approach to their work.

Salary: £40,000 Open to negotiation based on experience and the right candidate.
