We are seeking an experienced, organised and adaptable Housekeeper with strong wardrobe management and garment care experience to join a large UHNW private household in Primrose Hill, London. This role combines high-level housekeeping, wardrobe organisation, laundry and travel preparation, so we are looking for a capable all-rounder who takes pride in maintaining extremely high standards.
The successful candidate will work closely with the House Manager to ensure the home remains well organised, immaculately presented and running smoothly. The client is very detail-oriented and prefers everything to be meticulously organised and maintained at all times.
Flexibility is important for this role, as working hours may occasionally vary depending on the household schedule, and the candidate may travel with the family from time to time.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping
- Maintaining the home to extremely high cleanliness and presentation standards
- Hoovering, dusting and caring for all designated household areas
- Ensuring bedrooms, bathrooms and living spaces remain immaculate
- Maintaining organisation across wardrobes, drawers and storage areas
- Supporting daily household resets and ensuring common areas remain tidy
- Keeping kitchen and service areas organised when required
Laundry & Garment Care
- Managing household laundry, including bedding, towels and linens
- Washing clothing using correct detergents and methods for each garment
- Pressing and steaming garments to a professional standard
- Folding and returning clothing to the correct wardrobes
- Checking garments for damage and ensuring careful handling of delicate fabrics
Wardrobe Management
- Maintaining well-organised wardrobes and storage systems
- Ensuring garments are hung, folded and stored correctly
- Monitoring clothing for loose buttons, threads or minor repairs
- Keeping wardrobes visually organised and easy to access
Packing & Travel Preparation
- Packing clothing and personal items for travel
- Preparing garments so they are clean, pressed and travel-ready
- Unpacking and reorganising wardrobes after travel
Additional Duties
- Basic garment repairs such as sewing buttons
- Organising cosmetics, personal items and accessories
- Maintaining shoe storage and ensuring shoes are clean and paired
- Assisting with evening household resets when required
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in UHNW private households
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Strong organisation and communication skills
- Experience handling designer garments and fine fabrics
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Discreet, reliable and professional
- Non-smoker and no pets due to household allergies
Working Schedule
- Monday to Friday, with every other week Monday to Saturday
- Sundays currently covered by another staff member
- 45-hour working week (9-hour days, excluding unpaid breaks)
- Start and finish times may vary depending on the household schedule
Salary: £50,000 per annum for the right candidate.
