A warm and welcoming European family with two school-aged children are seeking an experienced and dependable Daily Housekeeper to join them at their beautiful home in Virginia Water, Surrey.
The family live in a large 9-bedroom residence with spacious gardens, set within a secure gated community. The property is maintained to an immaculate standard and supported by a small team, including a gardener, maintenance staff, and security. The family travel during school holidays for extended periods (approximately four months per year). There are no pets in residence.
The children attend school full-time. This is primarily a housekeeping role; however, the family are seeking a child-friendly housekeeper who is comfortable being around children and offering occasional support with simple evening routines when required. The house is situated a 15–20 minute walk from Virginia Water Station, with straightforward rail links to London including Clapham Junction (approximately 25 minutes) and Richmond (approximately 35 minutes). Off-road parking is available on site.
Job Description:
This is a hands-on housekeeping role suited to a calm, proactive, and organised professional who takes pride in maintaining a well-run household. The successful candidate will be confident working in a family home with children present and happy to offer light assistance when needed, while remaining focused on housekeeping duties.
Duties outlined but not limited to :
• Daily cleaning and general housekeeping to a very high standard
• Laundry, ironing, and wardrobe management
• Changing and maintaining household linen
• Kitchen and appliance cleaning, including fridge management and organisation
• Monitoring and replenishing household and cleaning supplies
• Simple family-style meal preparation or kitchen assistance when required
• Occasional assistance with children’s evening routines such as supper, bath, and bedtime
• Ensuring the home is well maintained and organised, particularly when the family are travelling
Candidate Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Housekeeper within a private household
• Strong housekeeping and laundry skills with excellent attention to detail
• Child-friendly, kind, and reliable with a calm and flexible approach
• Highly organised, discreet, and professional
• Good communication and time-management skills
• Enhanced DBS and excellent references essential
Days of Work, Hours & Salary:
• Monday to Friday
• Full-time role, 40–50 hours per week (to be discussed and agreed)
• Live-out only
• £40,000 – £50,000 gross per annum, depending on experience
• Start date: Immediate, though the family will wait for the right candidate
