Housekeeper

We are delighted to be searching for an experienced and discreet Live-Out Housekeeper for our lovely clients who have recently settled into their newly renovated country home, set in a peaceful village between Oxford and Bicester.

The household is run by a professional couple whose grown-up children have flown the nest. There are no young children or pets, creating a calm and organised environment. The home itself is beautifully appointed, with luxury finishes, antiques, and a hydro pool room—all of which require a Housekeeper with a keen eye for detail and pride in their work.

The male principal has limited mobility and uses a stairlift, so the successful candidate must be naturally thoughtful, kind, and sensitive to his needs. While this is not a care role, a respectful and considerate approach is essential. This is a wonderful opportunity for a professional Housekeeper who takes genuine pride in their work and enjoys keeping a beautiful home running smoothly. The role would suit someone who is warm, organised, and dependable, with excellent attention to detail and a calm, can-do manner.

Duties outlined but not limited:

  • Hands-on housekeeping and deep cleaning throughout the property
  • Careful cleaning and maintenance of antique furniture, silverware, and luxury interiors
  • Laundry, hand washing, and ironing to a high standard
  • Changing linens and keeping guest rooms beautifully prepared at all times
  • Working closely with the female principal to maintain the home to an exceptional level
  • Liaising with contractors and occasional external staff
  • Cleaning and upkeep of the hydro pool room and changing areas
  • Breakfast and light lunch preparation, primarily for the male principal when his wife is away
  • Running errands, food and household shopping, and general organisation of cupboards and supplies
  • Laying out the male principal’s clothing for the following day

  • Previous experience in a private household or similar high-standard environment
  • Experience working alongside or supporting individuals with reduced mobility would be highly advantageous, though not essential
  • Discretion, reliability, and a proactive attitude
  • A confident driver with their own vehicle, due to the rural location

Salary: £42,500+ gross per annum (dependent on experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day 9am – 5pm / 9.30am – 5.30pm

Location: Village between Oxford and Bicester – driving essential

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day
