Head Butler

Our clients, who have a beautifully maintained Grade II listed property in the heart of the Cotswolds, are seeking a dedicated and professional Head Butler. This is their second residence and, while not their primary home, it is kept to the highest standards at all times.

The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with a flexible, proactive approach and a “hands-on” attitude. You will be working alongside two full-time housekeepers and an estate manager and should be comfortable adapting to both formal and informal settings. Candidates with a background in private households, superyachts, or boutique hospitality will be highly regarded. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role and takes pride in delivering exceptional service.

Duties outlined but not limited to:

• Oversee and support daily household operations
• Assist with general houseman duties and property maintenance
• Provide informal and occasional formal service
• Greet and assist family and guests with warmth and professionalism
• Wardrobe management, packing and unpacking
• Occasional family-style cooking (a chef is employed for events)
• Assist with entertaining and hosting duties
• Vehicle care and occasional chauffeuring
• Pool upkeep and outdoor maintenance support
• Pet care – especially for the family’s dogs
• Team leadership and support – fostering a positive and collaborative working environment
• Step into other roles as needed with a flexible, can-do attitude

Candidate Requirements:

• Prior experience in a similar role within private households or luxury yachts
• Strong service orientation with a discreet and professional manner
• Confident with both formal and informal settings
• Comfortable assisting with cooking and other hands-on tasks
• Proactive, adaptable, and a natural team player
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Full, clean UK driving licence
• Dog-friendly and comfortable in a rural countryside setting

Accommodation: A private, self-contained two-bedroom flat is provided for live-in candidates.
