Shire & Wold Staffing is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a private client seeking an experienced, proactive and hands-on House Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of a luxury private residence located on The Palm, Dubai.
The Principal leads an international lifestyle and travels extensively, making this a pivotal role for someone who can confidently take ownership of the property, manage an established household team, coordinate contractors and ensure the residence is maintained to an exceptional standard at all times.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced House Manager who enjoys a varied role and is equally comfortable leading a team, managing projects and rolling up their sleeves to complete practical tasks when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility for the smooth day-to-day operation of the residence.
- Manage, supervise and support the existing household team, including housekeepers, drivers, gardeners and maintenance personnel.
- Coordinate and oversee external contractors, ensuring work is completed on time and to the highest standard.
- Create and manage household schedules, maintenance plans and preventative servicing programmes.
- Manage snagging lists and ensure all outstanding works are completed promptly.
- Ensure the property is always presented to an impeccable standard and fully prepared ahead of the Principal’s arrival.
- Conduct regular property inspections, identifying maintenance issues before they become problems.
- Source quotations, liaise with suppliers and oversee household expenditure where required.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the Principal, maintaining clear communication while they are travelling.
- Maintain accurate household records, inventories, maintenance logs and service schedules.
- Implement and continually improve household systems and operational procedures to ensure the residence runs efficiently.
- Support with procurement of household items and oversee deliveries where required.
Hands-On Responsibilities:
This is not purely a managerial position. The successful candidate will be happy to undertake practical, hands-on duties where needed, including:
- Carrying out minor handyman and basic maintenance tasks.
- Assisting with furniture moves and room set-ups.
- Completing simple repairs and troubleshooting household issues.
- Ensuring equipment is operational before arranging specialist contractors where appropriate.
- Supporting the household team during busy periods to ensure standards are consistently maintained.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience as a House Manager, Estate Manager or Senior Housekeeper within a UHNW private household.
- Strong experience managing household staff and external contractors.
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proactive, resourceful and able to anticipate the Principal’s needs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a calm and solutions-focused approach.
- Confident managing multiple priorities independently.
- Strong communication skills and able to provide clear updates to the Principal.
- Systems and IT literate, with confidence using Microsoft Office, digital calendars, spreadsheets and household management software.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing private household environment.
- Discreet, trustworthy and highly professional.
- Fluent English is essential; additional languages would be advantageous.
- Full UAE driving licence (or willingness to obtain one) would be beneficial.
Package:
- Salary: AED 18,000–25,000 per month, depending on experience.
