We are seeking an experienced, professional Groundsman to take responsibility for the upkeep and presentation of a private estate. The successful candidate will ensure the grounds, gardens, and equestrian areas are maintained to a high standard at all times. This role requires reliability, practical skills, and a strong sense of ownership.
Duties outlined but not limited to
- Grounds & Garden Maintenance
- Regular lawn care, including mowing, edging, and general turf maintenance
- Hedge cutting, pruning, and seasonal garden upkeep
- Leaf clearing, weed control, and general tidiness of all outdoor areas
- Basic planting and care of shrubs, plants, and borders
- Monitoring and maintaining outdoor equipment and tools
Equestrian Care
- Daily feeding and general care of horses
- Maintaining clean, safe, and organised stables and paddocks
- Checking water supplies and general welfare of horses
- Assisting with basic yard duties as required
Property & General Duties
- Routine inspections of the grounds and reporting any issues
- Light maintenance tasks across the estate
- Assisting with general outdoor projects as required
- Basic carpentry tasks (desirable but not essential)
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in groundskeeping or a similar role
- Confident feeding and caring for horses
- Skilled in lawn care and hedge cutting
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently
- Good practical and maintenance skills
- Basic carpentry skills are desirable but not essential
Available to work between 7:00am -5:00pm
Location: Kidlington
Hours: 20-40 hours per week
Salary: Experience dependant £35k -£50k
