Temporary Housekeeper – September Cover
Dates: 28th September–9th October
Location: Windsor and Berkshire
Position: Live-out Temporary Housekeeper
Salary: £18.00 – £20.00 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Seven days per week
A private family is seeking an experienced, professional and hands-on Temporary Housekeeper to provide cover from 28th September until 9th October.
The family will be moving house soon, which may take place during the cover period. The successful candidate must therefore be flexible and comfortable working in Windsor and Berkshire or across both locations.
Working Hours:
- Monday–Friday: 7:00am–3:30pm
- Saturday–Sunday: 7:30am–1:30pm
Essential Requirements:
The successful candidate must:
- Have previous private household or luxury hotel housekeeping experience.
- Hold a valid DBS certificate.
- Hold a clean, valid driving licence and be confident driving, including driving 4×4 vehicles.
- Be able to commute reliably to Windsor and/or Farley Hill.
- Be available for the full cover period.
- Be flexible regarding the working location during the family’s house move.
- Be confident managing laundry, ironing, linens and bed-making to an exceptional hotel standard.
- Understand how to clean and care for expensive fabrics, delicate surfaces, fixtures and fittings.
- Be highly organised, discreet, proactive and attentive to detail.
- Be comfortable assisting with dogs, household errands and light food preparation.
- Ideally have previous experience working within a listed country house.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Housekeeping:
- Maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation throughout the residence.
- Completing daily cleaning of bedrooms, bathrooms, reception rooms, kitchens and other household areas.
- Dusting, polishing, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping throughout the property.
- Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms, including baths, showers, toilets, sinks, mirrors and tiled surfaces.
- Cleaning the kitchen, including worktops, cupboards, appliances and food-preparation areas.
- Making and presenting beds to an exceptional hotel standard.
- Changing, washing and carefully storing bed linen and household linens.
- Managing all laundry, including washing, drying, ironing, steaming, folding and putting clothing away.
- Caring for delicate garments, luxury fabrics and specialist household linens.
- Organising and maintaining wardrobes, cupboards, drawers and household storage areas.
- Cleaning and polishing fine furniture, silverware, glassware and other delicate items.
- Caring appropriately for valuable furnishings, fixtures, fittings and specialist surfaces.
- Carrying out regular deep cleaning and attending to areas that require additional attention.
- Preparing bedrooms and guest areas before visitors arrive.
