Temporary Housekeeper – UHNW Private Household

Shire & Wold Staffing are seeking an experienced Temporary Housekeeper to join a fully staffed private household supporting a family visit in July. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional housekeeper with previous private household experience who enjoys working within a team and maintaining exceptional standards.
Location:
Private Estate- Horsham, West Sussex
Contract Dates:
3rd July – 16th July 2026
(Primary family visit: 5th July – 10th July)
There may be an opportunity for the assignment to be extended should the family decide to remain at the property for longer.
Rate:
- Live-Out: £18.00 gross per hour
- Live-In: £18.00 gross per hour
Accommodation:
For candidates travelling from further afield, accommodation can be provided within a staff cottage on the estate.
- Private double bedroom
- Shared bathroom facilities with one other team member
- Food and refreshments provided
- Separate from the principal residence
Duties:
- Daily housekeeping to an exceptional standard
- Laundry and wardrobe care
- Preparing the property before the family’s arrival
- Supporting the household throughout the family’s stay
- Assisting with post-visit housekeeping requirements
- Working closely with the existing housekeeping team
- Following household-specific procedures and instructions
- Maintaining discretion and professionalism at all times
Working Hours:
- Typically 8 working hours per day plus a 1-hour break
- Staggered shifts to ensure full household coverage
- Example start times: 8am, 9am or 10am
- Latest shift may finish at approximately 10pm
- Flexibility to work additional hours when required is essential
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience within a private household
- Strong attention to detail
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Able to take direction from both the Housekeeping Manager and Principal
- Flexible and adaptable approach
- Professional, discreet and hardworking
Additional Information:
The client would ideally like candidates to work continuously throughout the family’s visit period to maximise continuity of service. However, rota arrangements can be discussed where necessary.
