Domestic Couple

Our clients, based in the beautiful Cotswolds countryside, are seeking an experienced Domestic Couple to support the smooth running and day-to-day management of a Grade II listed property. The estate forms part of a larger private estate with an established team already in place, and the couple will play an integral role within this wider household structure.

This is a traditional estate role where the property is used as a UK residence by the family, and requirements may vary depending on their schedule and changing plans. Flexibility, discretion, and an unflappable nature are therefore essential.

The clients are specifically looking for an experienced Domestic Couple with a strong background in private households or similar environments.

This opportunity would particularly suit a couple with strong butlering and service experience, who are confident delivering both formal and informal service when required. The couple will work closely together, overseeing the house and contributing as key members of an integrated household and estate team, primarily focused on caretaking and ensuring the property is maintained and ready at all times.

The majority of the role will be proactive caretaking, anticipating household needs, and staying ahead of requirements to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the estate.

Duties outlined but not limited to :

• High-standard housekeeping with exceptional attention to detail
• Care and cleaning of antiques, fine furnishings, and artworks
• Maintenance of specialist surfaces and finishes
• Fabric care, laundry, ironing, and wardrobe management
• Meeting and greeting guests on arrival
• General household management, including stock control and inventory
• Houseman duties and general maintenance support
• Chauffeuring and vehicle care
• Pool maintenance
• Guest hosting and service for smaller gatherings (additional staff provided for larger functions)
• Light cooking when required (chef provided for larger events)
• Care and support of small estate animals, including dogs, chickens, and pigs

Requirements:

• Experienced Domestic Couple (essential)
• Previous experience within private households or superyachts
• Strong butlering and service experience with ability to deliver formal and informal service
• Excellent presentation and professional manner
• Flexible, proactive, and unflappable approach due to changing family schedules
• A genuine appreciation for rural living and countryside lifestyle
• Full UK driving licence required due to rural location
• Strong team players with a collaborative approach
• Live-in position (accommodation not suitable for families)
• Must be able to drive

Working Pattern:

• Thursday to Monday
• Flexibility required depending on family schedule
• One weekend off per month when the family is not in residence

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £80,000 depending on experience (DOE)
