We are seeking a kind, proactive, and highly adaptable individual to support a busy family household with three children (aged 5, 7, and 13) and a variety of animals, including horses, ponies, chickens, and sheep. This is a varied role, ideally suited to someone with a love of the countryside who is happy to adapt to the evolving needs of the family. While training can be provided for animal care, a genuine interest in and affinity with animals is essential. A background in gardening is highly desirable, alongside a hands-on, “roll up your sleeves” attitude.
This is a practical, hands-on position focused on maintaining the outdoor areas and ensuring the smooth running of the estate. The successful candidate will thrive in an informal, welcoming family environment and take pride in delivering consistently high standards across all aspects of their work.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily care and feeding of animals (ponies, sheep, pigs, chickens)
- Cleaning and maintaining coops, paddocks, and stables
- General gardening: weeding, pruning, planting, mulching, and bed maintenance
- Grounds upkeep: mowing, strimming, hedge cutting, and path/woodland maintenance
- Maintaining outdoor areas, including pressure washing and general tidiness
- Harrowing paddocks/menage using a buggy
- Keeping sheds, greenhouse, and outdoor storage areas organise

- Warm, approachable, and team-oriented, adamapatable m friends with sense of humore and fun loving to fit with the team
- Previous experience in a similar setting beneficial but not essential
- Full driving licence required

- Hours:
- Monday: 1:00pm – 5:00pm
- Tuesday to Friday: 9:00am – 5:00pm (summer) / 8:00am – 4:00pm (winter)
- Saturday mornings, with one full weekend off per month
- Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
