Child-Focused Household Assistant, Nr Limassol, Cyprus

We are seeking a warm, capable and proactive individual to join a private household in Cyprus (Apesia,10 minutes outside of Limassol), as a full-time Household Assistant. This is a broad, hands-on role best suited to someone with a strong childcare background who enjoys being part of a family environment.

The priority within this role is to support the smooth running of the family home as a mother’s helper and household assistant, rather than acting as the child’s primary caregiver. Whilst the successful candidate will be around the child on a daily basis and involved in family life, the mother will remain the main caregiver, alongside a very hands-on father.

The family are therefore seeking someone qualified and experienced around children, as the role involves regular interaction with the child throughout the day and being an integral part of the household dynamic. For example, whilst the parent may be caring for the child directly, the child may wish to assist with meal preparation or engage in day-to-day household activities alongside the staff member.

Some childcare support will be required when needed, however this is not the primary focus of the role. Instead, the ideal candidate will be flexible, intuitive and happy to support wherever required within the household environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the smooth day-to-day running of the family home
• Provide occasional childcare support as required
• Plan and prepare simple, healthy lunches and dinners
• Assist with children’s routines and activities where appropriate
• Support with light household tasks including tidying and organisation
• Run errands as required (shopping, collections, general household support)
• Step into broader household support duties when the part-time household staff member is away or unwell
• Assist both inside and outside the home as needed

Candidate Profile

• Background in childcare (e.g. nanny, nursery, teaching assistant)
• Formal childcare training or qualification is essential
• Confident preparing simple family meals
• Highly flexible and adaptable within a varied role
• Proactive and able to “see what needs doing”
• Comfortable balancing childcare support with household assistance
• Warm, engaging and naturally supportive in approach
• Happy working within a fully staffed but hands-on family environment

Working Pattern

• Approx. 36 hours per week
• Flexibility required based on family needs

Salary Guidance (Cyprus)

• €1,800 – €3,500+ per month depending on experience
• Higher for exceptional candidates with strong childcare credentials
