Location: Private Country Estate near Burford, The Cotswolds

(Live-in or Live-out position)

Job Summary:

A prestigious private estate in the heart of the Cotswolds is
seeking an experienced and highly professional Butler to provide
formal service and all-round household support. This live-in role
requires an individual with excellent attention to detail,
extensive experience in silver service, and a proactive, flexible
approach to all duties.

Key responsibilities but not limited to:

• Formal Silver Service: Provide professional formal dining
service, including setting and clearing tables, serving meals and
drinks to a high standard, and catering to the family’s
preferences and requirements.

• Household Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the
estate, managing the housekeeping team, ensuring all household
systems run smoothly and efficiently.

• Event Planning & Execution: Assist with the planning,
coordination, and hosting of events and gatherings, including
liaising with external service providers and managing guest
requirements.

• Wardrobe Management: Care for fine clothing, including
laundering, ironing, and arranging for dry cleaning as necessary.

• Wine & Cellar Management: Maintain the estate’s wine cellar,
stock inventory, and advise on appropriate pairings for meals.

• Valet Duties: Assist with packing, unpacking, and care of the
principals’ wardrobe, including shoes and accessories.

• Guest Care: Welcome and host guests with warmth and
professionalism, ensuring they are provided with everything
needed for a comfortable stay.

• Security Awareness: Monitor the security of the estate,
reporting any issues to the principal or the estate manager.

• General Support: Perform ad hoc duties, such as running
errands, must like dogs as you will be required to look after on
occasions.

Key Requirements:

• Experience: At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role,
preferably in a private household or luxury hospitality
environment.

• Formal Silver Service: Proven experience with formal dining and
silver service is essential.

• Skills: Excellent organisational and communication skills;
ability to manage and supervise household staff.

• Flexibility: Willingness to work irregular hours, including
evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the family’s
needs.

• Professionalism: Discretion, confidentiality, and attention to
detail are essential. A high level of personal presentation and
conduct is expected.

• Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is preferred.

• Right to Work: Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.

Benefits:

• Competitive salary of £50,000 – £60,000 DOE.
