January Newsletter

Share:

At the beginning of January we welcomed Matthew Leggett to the Shire & Wold family. Matthew joins the team with over 18 years of experience working in private households. Matthew understands the nuances of running a private household and as such puts him into good stead to guide Clients and Candidates throughout their recruitment search.

You can find out more about Matthew here. Or reach out directly: Matthew@shireandwoldstaffing.com

Bcorp

Early in 2023 Shire & Wold started the journey to become B Corp Certified. Whilst we have a little while to go yet, we have pressed ‘submit’ on our BCORP application. Becoming BCORP is part of the bigger picture as we continue to strive to ‘Exceed the Ordinary’ and deliver exceptional service to Clients and Candidates.

Reference Checking

Whilst we are still undertaking referencing ‘in house’, we have also signed up with referencing agency Referoo to provide even tighter due-diligence.

Job-Fairs

We are exhibiting at a number of job-fairs throughout the UK this year. Our first one will be at Cheltenham Race Course on the 16th  February. Further information here:

Charity

As well as working with local Charities we love to raise money for bigger well-known Charities such as Muscular Dystrophy and are taking part in Oxford’s 10k ‘Town and Gown’ in May. We will post soon about how you can donate.

Update to UK legislation

If you have not seen our recent LinkedIn post, we have been collaborating with Freeths LLP who provide a great one-pager on forthcoming changes to minimum wage rules for some live-in Staff. We are looking to hold Employment Law refresher workshops in the next few months aimed towards Private Household Staffing.
