Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Domestic Couple to help manage and maintain a beautiful countryside residence located near Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire. This is a weekend residence, used regularly from Friday to Sunday and more frequently during school holidays.
The property is home to a warm and welcoming family, including a couple and their four energetic children (ages 6–12). A nanny, chef, and driver are also employed, creating a collaborative and supportive household team.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeper duties:
- Full housekeeping: cleaning, tidying, organising
- Laundry and ironing, including delicate fabrics
- Bed linen changing and room turn-down service
- Occasional family-style cooking (bonus – chef usually present)
- Errands, shopping, and coordinating with local suppliers/contractors
- Assisting occasionally in London (very rare, and with support)
Handyperson/Gardener duties:
- Interior and exterior maintenance
- Gardening and grounds upkeep
- Operating garden machinery
- General DIY and liaison with contractors
- Occasional driving (e.g. train station or airport pickups)
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role (preferably countryside estate or private household)
- Highly organised, proactive, and discreet
- Confident working independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable working in a child- and pet-friendly environment
- Full UK driving licences (both candidates ideally)
- DBS checked (or willing to undergo)
- Flexibility, reliability, and a positive, can-do attitude
Details
- Location: Countryside near Stow-on-the-Wold (Cotswolds)
- Working Days: Thursday–Monday (flexibility essential, especially during holidays)
- Hours: Approx. 10 hours/day. May include later evenings during family visits.
- Accommodation: 3-bedroom private flat, separate from the main house
- Holidays: 4 weeks (to coincide with family’s travel schedule)
- Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
