Our Lovely clients have a 6-bedroom home with a large garden
,based in popular large village close to Oxford and Thame. The
family is a family of 4 , with 2 twin boys age 11 and two dogs a
cocker spaniel and a cockapoo. They are busy friendly family and
treat staff as family members and offer great flexibility and
look for initiative / autonomy and reliability in return. The
role is for a housekeeper / parent helper with main
responsibility for maintaining the house with some childcare
duties. One of the principals is stay at home and sole care of
children is limited. The twin boys aged 11. One boy is very
sporty and has lots of fixtures and activities. The other boy is
more home based and has mild autism. He is mainly managed by the
principal but once he gets to know you, he is confident and
cooperative and enjoys art and cooking. In addition, they have
the two dogs and the role will entail the occasional walking and
washing the dogs and also feeding and managing vet appointments
etc. so a dog lover is essential .
Duties Outlines but not limited too:
* Helping with school run 2 or maybe 3 times per week. This
entails 07.30 collection of one of he boys and a 25 minute
journey to school.
* Collection from school as required 2-3 times per week. Times
vary between 1530 and 1800 (one day).
* Household management including laundry, cleaning and caring for
antique furniture, fabrics, wood and marble surfaces.
* Maintaining stock of household items and cleaning supplies,
consumables.
* Clothing management such as managing school uniforms, ordering
new items (with principal), labelling and packing school bags
etc;
* Managing the kitchen in terms of stock levels, shopping orders,
meal planning, batch cooking and preparing meals for the
children.
* Occasionally preparing meals for everyone if we are eating
together. We treat staff as part of the family and can eat with
the family and have their lunch at home as they wish.
* Run errands. This could include shopping for sundry items,
going to the market, receiving deliveries and posting items and
meeting tradespeople on occasions although there is a property
manager who deals with this usually.
* Occasionally providing lunch for guests / visitors.
* Ideally the candidate will be a confident cook and will
occasionally help the principal cater for lunch parties / events.
* May be required to house / dog sit when family travel if house
manager is unavailable.
The ideal candidate:
* Is discrete, professional, flexible and reliable
* Is a confident driver
* Likes dogs and being outside!
* Is a competent cook
* Has relevant experience of this type of role
* Happy to work in a family environment
Full time (40 hours per week) over 5 days with variable start and
finish times to be agreed. This will mean some shorter and some
longer days .
This Ideally would suit someone local , but there is
accommodation on site if required for a live in position or over
night stays .
Use of family car during working hours.
Salary : £42k -£45k
